Data Security Leader Vormetric Continues Executive Briefing Series Featuring Gartner Analyst Avivah Litan

Seminars sponsored by HP in New York and San Francisco Bay Area will discuss best practices in securing digital information from internal and external threats

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.  February 7, 2006Vormetric, the leader in protecting sensitive data from unauthorized access, announced today that it will host executive breakfast seminars in New York and Redwood City, California this month featuring Avivah Litan, Gartner Vice President and Distinguished Analyst and renowned expert on financial fraud, identity theft and fraud prevention applications.

Litan advises the world's largest public and private-sector enterprises on how to mitigate risks associated with information security. Her presentation will discuss the best methods of protecting customers, employees, and shareholders from consequences arising from lost or stolen data.

Joining Litan will be Donna Scheid, compliance solutions manager at Hewlett-Packard. Scheid, who is responsible for developing global compliance solutions across all industries, will discuss how HP’s Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) helps companies address today’s compliance challenges. The two-hour briefings will also cover best practices from firms that are effectively securing their digital information, and will conclude with a panel discussion and a Q&A session.

“Attendees at last fall’s seminars in Denver and Chicago told us that the seminars were tremendously useful. The opportunity to network with peers and industry experts was a unique value,” said Tom Grubb, Vormetric Vice President of Marketing, from the RSA 2007 Conference here. Vormetric is exhibiting at RSA and is sponsor of the conference’s Policy and Government Track.

“Lately, with all the bad news about data thefts and breaches, there’s been a surge of interest in safeguarding sensitive information like corporate financial records, personal identity, intellectual property, and customer cardholder data,” said Grubb. “There couldn’t be a better time to hold these seiminars.”
